HOGS HEAD

We have just popped in to the Hogs Head - the new restaurant/bar that is just about to open up on the urb (this was previously Thomas Greens). We met Paul - The owner who says that he hopes they will be open completely for business by next weekend. It appears that they are going to have entertainment ie Karaoke/disco on certain evenings and also live entertainment on Saturday evenings. I think Paul is going to post up here and enclose his website links for you all to see. Good luck to Paul and his wife in their new business. Hope this forum helps to bring in a lot of customers for you.................

La Marina

We drove by the Hogs Head last night and there were customers sitting outside. I expect they were just having drinks or coffee as the kitchen is hopefully opening for next weekend. I'm looking forward to seeing how successful the owners make their new business.

We walked past there on our way home last night Carol about midnight and there were a few people still sitting outside, we had a look through the window and it looks a very nice place, we shall definately try it x

Yes, it's quite spacious inside (with air con), and then there are a few tables up the stairs (where the cards used to be when it was Thomas Greens) - they have also got another room up the stairs which they are going to turn in to a pool room. Agree Linda - a night out there I think for a change ! They are going to do a set menu I believe for the evening, but I have already asked if they would do me yolky eggs and chips and Paul did say they would if I asked the chef nicely he would he he xx

With reference to posting up here on the La Marina Forum. As Angelique points out most - but not all, joined after receiving the leaflets that are being delivered on the Urbanisation. (We have now delivered to over 50% of houses). We have strived to make the forum more or less totally open and, of course, there are as always, several sides to an argument or point of view. It is this that has made the forum fairly popular (nearly 500 a day viewing this - the La Marina section).
This forum is also proving to be rather useful it seems in finding out information on a variety of different subjects that locals and visitors were/are looking for. We have even managed to get listed the times and stopping places for the summer bus that goes to the beach. http://lamarina.aspanishlife.com/topics/7-la-marina-subjects/articles/161-buses-to-la-marina-beach
However I was somewhat taken aback by there not being a Sunday service. A lot of people arrive on a Saturday and the next day would like to be able to go to the beach. But unfortunately this is not possible – at the moment anyway!! No Buses are running on a Sunday or Red Days - well what does one say? I thought the Council were trying to promote the area.

La Marina

Ian,
As always I support you as best I can.
I understand that you may not appreciate all of my comments but that is a consequence for both of us when partaking in a forum.
I hope, as our administrator that you feel whether you agree with me or not, unlike many in here, I try and believe I only discuss facts, I do not fantasise, interpret information, insinuate, I just stick to the facts and discuss them in this forum?
I appreciate this forum and thank you for administering it on our behalf.

Fantsastic, at least our family can just walk around the corner and get the bus to the beach, thank you Ian x

IT’S SHOWTIME AT CATORCE BENIJOFAR ...

on Friday, July 15th. You can watch the Wonderful Variety Show Group and The Marina Tappers and enjoy a 2 course meal included in the ticket price of €10. The show starts at 9.00p.m and these two groups have joined together to produce a real foot tapping and sing along show.
The Variety Show Group support many charities and this year their travelling show with the Marina Tappers are supporting Paul Cunningham Nurses.
Eileen Carpenter is the quietly spoken but ‘iron lady’ behind The Variety Show Group and you will be amazed at the power of her voice, you will also be amazed at the end of the show to find there are only 6 in the group! Tony is the one man who has the fun of five stage ‘wives’ and then there are the five ladies themselves. There are so many costume changes you get the feeling there is a huge group behind stage but you can be assured there are only six in total and it will be a fun evening with some very talented voices, very fancy footwork and a good dash of humour thrown in!
Catorce is just off the main street in Benijofar and if you turn where the fireworks shop is and look to your left you will see Catorce in the lovely setting with trees and shaded areas just in front of the restaurant. If you are not sure where it is you can call Martyn or Paul on 639 235 606.
Tickets are available from Paul Cunningham Nurses Charity Shop in Quesada and from Restaurant Catorce 639 235 606 or you can call, text or email [email protected] 639 318 526

This forum is better than all the c..p we have to watch on television every night. In fact, I think it would make a wonderful television program. I suggest you sell the rights Ian!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

La Marina

Would love to get another good one like this going in Guardamar or Santa Pola, but would need posters to start them off. We are now the largest. The second in size is Quesada, and third is Almoradi.
Its like a drug ....... keep needing to pop in for another dose.
